Gillieston Heights Medical Centre is a 3 room practice located on 3 Redwood Drive in Gillieston we are right next door to Gillieston Heights Discount Drugstore and Tilly’s Childcare. In the fast growing suburb of Gillieston Heights we are the only doctor surgery in town. Dr Saif Alkadhi is a dual trained clinician, Emergency Physician & General Practitioner.
He also holds a Diploma in Child Health from the University of Sydney. Dr Alkadhi is a VMO Emergency Consultant at Hunter New England Health, and General Practitioner at Abermain Surgery.
Dr Alkadhi is trained in different acute care settings and departments in Sydney and the Hunter region.
His Special interest are all aspect of Emergency Medicine, Chronic disease management, Paediatrics, Aged Care Residents, Skin Cancer Medicine, Cosmetic injectables, Men’s health & Work-related injuries.
Dr Alkadhi is actively involved in training future GPs, & supervises GP registrars at our surgery.
Dr Alkadhi was awarded RACGP Supervisor of the year 2021 in NSW.
Dr Alkadhi is available Wednesdays.
Dr Al-Azzawi is a RACGP General Practitioner who joined the surgery in May 2018.
Dr Al-Azzawi has practiced medicine in 3 countries around the world and has been based in the Hunter Region for the past few years.
Her professional interests include a strong emphasis on preventative medicine and all aspects of primary healthcare, including chronic disease management, Women’s health, mental health, aged care and paediatrics.
She has a diploma in Child Health and a special interest in Women’s Health and Chronic Disease Management. Is is also certified for IUD insertion and removal.
Dr Al-Azzawi is actively involved in training future GPs, & supervises GP registrars at our surgery.
She is available Monday and Thursday.
Dr Pip Lennox has has completed her GP specialist training and returned to Abermain and Gillieston Heights Medical Centre.
She is interested in all aspects of Medicine. She is available at Abermain and Gillieston Heights Medical. New patients are welcome
Dr Lennox is available Tuesday and Friday.
Dr Bara Qattan he has gained Fellowship with RACGP and has worked in the local Coalfields area for years. He has maintained his surgical skills by assisting both Bariatric and Plastic Surgeons across Newcastle and Sydney.

We have practice nurses on site each day to assist our patients in many areas including health care checks, 715 assessment and team care arrangement plans.
Pathology
Our visiting pathologists are available Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays from 8:30am – 12:30pm
Podiatrist
Podiatrist Cameron Bell is on site Wednesday’s for all Podiatry needs. Bulk billing available for eligible patients.
Please call the practice to book in an appointment or book online. Emergencies will always be given priority.
A standard consultation is approximately 10 to 15 minutes. If you require a longer consultation, please notify Reception when booking.
We understand your time is valuable, and every effort is made to keep to appointment times, however, patient medical needs are unpredictable.
We are a private billing surgery with both male and female General Practitioners available. Appointments can be made online here or call our surgery.
